Daily Creative Quiet Time

Reading God’s Word doesn’t have to be an exercise or a daily check off the box on my To Do list. I’ve often felt that I wanted a deeper connection with God in my quiet time. I’ve discovered that writing helps me to focus on God and my relationship with Him in a way that just reading doesn’t. But then, I am not a reader; I am a writer. And I have come to the place in my heart where I can feel assured that God’s sees my written prayers just as well as He hears my verbal prayers. He knows that my writing comes from my heart. I can have a conversation with Him in writing, and as an added benefit, anyone can read my writing. Hopefully, what I write can minister to someone after I’m gone. When I’m speaking, I say words without much thought to them. But when writing, I need to think about what I’m writing which means to me that I am able to connect with Jesus at a deeper level.

However, everyone is different. And whatever works best for an individual person is probably the best way to communicate with our Father. The important thing is to feel connected with the Source of all you need to live in communion with Him. We put ourselves in a box when we think we can only do our quiet time one way. God knows all about what helps me connect with Him. And God is the ultimate creator…I see that when look at the incredible beauty of nature. So, perhaps, God created me to write my prayers, stories, poems or maybe even lyrics in order to help me connect on a deeper level with Him and to, hopefully, one day even encourage others!

How Can I Be Saved?

Read the verses below. Think about them. Accept these truths into your heart. Call upon the Lord to ask for the Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9,10
